Opus EHR is a comprehensive clinical solution that offers more than a standard EHR system. It integrates customer relationship management (CRM), electronic health records (EHR) and revenue cycle management (RCM) at its core, with additional modules like e-prescribe, telehealth and AI capabilities.
Its main benefits include real-time documentation tracking, customizable workflows, patient progress monitoring and reporting capabilities. It’s suitable for small to large practices in the behavioral health field. It's particularly beneficial for multi-provider practices and those requiring detailed oversight and compliance management. However, solo practitioners might find some features too much for their needs.
Users like Opus for its user-friendly and clean interface. They find the dashboard and task management features especially helpful. Some users say that the abundance of features can be overwhelming at first, and certain functions may be difficult to locate initially.
Opus pricing starts at $79 per user, per month. This competitive pricing, combined with its extensive feature set, makes it a strong competitor in the behavioral health EHR market.
Opus offers a web app, but a mobile app is not currently available. Despite this, the system's capabilities in patient management, billing and clinical decision support make it a valuable tool for mental health professionals and clinical directors.

With many helpful features and customization options, Opus EHR is definitely a comprehensive and user-friendly solution. Its logical format and design make it easy to navigate, though I must admit that some functions can be a bit challenging to locate at first.
The sheer number of features can be overwhelming. I even found myself getting "lost" in its many functionalities. This complexity might be overkill for solo practitioners running a single private practice.
I'm fond of two key features. First, the real-time dashboard for documentation completion. It ensures you never fall behind on oversight, credentialing or insurance authorizations. Second, the to-do list function allows you to assign and supervise tasks efficiently. Another one of the standout features, progress notes, can significantly enhance the note-taking capabilities of therapists, which could be essential for many practices.
In regular assessments, if the patient answers yes to any critical question, Opus sends an automated notification to the primary provider. This acts as a risk management tool, which is crucial for patient care and safety, especially in mental health treatments.
Reporting is generally good, with 40 types of built-in reports available, but custom reports require contacting their 24/7 customer service.
The internal chat feature within progress notes helps communicate with team members by tagging them. The ability to set recurring follow-ups with patients is also a time-saver. The patient portal is a nice touch, though it's worth noting that Opus only offers a web app, not a mobile app.
The system's support for all levels of behavioral health care is amazing, and so are its patient progress tracking and outcome reporting features. The fact that you have solid data to showcase the level of care you can provide, and the improvement in your patients will help you negotiate higher reimbursement rates with insurance companies.
I was also impressed by the Opus Assistant. It can create rules to ensure insurance company conditions are met and keep them in check. You can even create custom conditions on your own. The color-coded timeline view in the Assistant is good for reviewing session statuses in one glance.
Even though Opus EHR has a learning curve and might be more than needed for very small practices, its focus on efficiency makes it a solid choice for behavioral health practices.

We’re excited to work with Opus EHR to enhance our internal processes and workflows. Standardizing and organizing schedules has been on my list of features and now we will finally have it from Opus EHR.
These new processes will help review to ensure the clinical integrity of clinical documents. By automating the quality of internal data, and applying an algorithm, it will cut back on errors to not miss a thing, especially from group sessions.
We chose Opus because it is user-friendly and highly configurable. We are looking forward to designing a system that meets our agency's unique needs. We are excited to expand our ability to track and report on data so that we can improve our quality assurance and reporting processes. Finally, we are looking forward to being more hands-on on back-end billing processes so that we can bill more effectively and efficiently. (Personally, I would also add that Adi is awesome and I love working with him.)
We chose Opus because it has a user-friendly workflow and it offers a great client experience. We are looking forward to the ease with which clients can schedule their appointments and receive communications for their ongoing care all in one place. (I will second that Adi is awesome!)
We chose Opus for a multitude of reasons. High level as our organization continues to grow, we need a partner that can grow with us. Opus is that perfect partner. With the ease of use for our clinical staff and clients, robust functionality for our back-office support, payor rate compliance features, and accrual accounting reporting, along with many more, it was an easy choice. Additionally, the people at Opus are a joy to work with. Adi is awesome to work with too when implementing.
We've been able to cut down on administrative staff and focus on patient care. Plus, the Opus EHR support team rocks, which makes things a lot easier for all of us.
